Fred Perlini serves as Vice President as well as the Underwriting and Commercial Counsel for Chicago Title’s Michigan operation. His expertise in title insurance and underwriting is a result of his extensive experience in the industry, working for a direct operation, an agent, and a direct agency operation. Fred’s underwriting experience spans residential, new construction, and complex commercial transactions, as well as handling claims and providing continuing education.
Fred, a native Chicagoan, received his Juris Doctor from Northern Illinois University in 1984 and joined the Illinois Bar in that same year. He joined Chicago Title Insurance Company in Chicago, Illinois in 1988 after leaving private practice. While in Chicago, he worked as an assistant title officer in the C&I Divisions in the downtown Chicago office.
In 1993, Fred accepted the position of Underwriting Counsel with Chicago Title of Colorado, a then exclusive agent of Chicago Title Insurance Company. Shortly thereafter he assumed the additional role of Production Manager for the Colorado Agency.
Fred returned to Chicago in 1996 to work in the National Business Unit for Chicago Title Insurance Company in the capacity of Office Counsel where he worked on single and multi-site commercial transactions involving properties throughout the United States.
Fred embraced the opportunity to relocate to Michigan and act in the capacity of State Agency Counsel for the then Chicago Title & Trust Family of Companies in 1998. The subsequent growth of Chicago Title Insurance Company led to the establishment of a direct office in Michigan where Fred provides underwriting services and support for the local residential and commercial operations as well as the National Business Unit.
